Keeping support close to home
A podcast about Southend United does not have to look far to find a story in its own town. Surgical Holdings, a Southend-on-Sea business established in 1988, is continuing its sponsorship of the Talking Shrimpers Podcast into the 2026/27 season.
The relationship began with a straightforward message from Surgical Holdings: it was proud to sponsor the new podcast and ready to cheer on the Shrimpers. Its own review of 2025 repeated that support, while Phil Parker’s end-of-season update confirmed that the partnership would continue for the campaign ahead.
A business rooted in Southend
Surgical Holdings manufactures and repairs surgical instruments from its base in Southend-on-Sea. The work is a long way from a match review or a studio debate, but the geography gives this partnership an easy fit: a local company is backing an independent show made for people who care about the same town and football club.
That local link is worth making clear without stretching it. Surgical Holdings sponsors the Talking Shrimpers Podcast. This is not a claim that the company sponsors Southend United Football Club, and neither side has published the financial or operational terms of the arrangement.
