The Talking Shrimpers Podcast

About the show

Week in, week out

Made by Shrimpers

The Talking Shrimpers is a fan-run show for Southend United supporters. A warm, honest, family-friendly place to talk about the club we love. No shouting, no nastiness. Just Blues fans working through the highs and lows of following the Shrimpers, week in and week out.

Like every Shrimper, we've had the good days and the ones we'd rather forget, and we've never stopped turning up. This is a show for the whole matchday family: the lifers who have watched from the Roots Hall terraces for decades, the kids getting hooked on their first season, and everyone who still gets that flutter when the shrimp on the badge comes into view.

We cover matchdays, transfers, memories and everything in between, the men's first team, Southend United Ladies, the Academy and the wider Shrimpers community. If you follow Southend United, you're one of us. Pull up a chair and join the conversation.

Web and Social Content Reporter

Chris BNZ Shrimper

Chris is a lifelong Blues supporter whose dedication has never been limited by distance. When he lived locally, he followed the team home and away every week, from freezing Friday nights singing in the North Bank to matches across the country. Now based on the other side of the world in New Zealand, he still tunes in to the DAZN coverage at around 3am and is often loud enough to wake the family. That same passion brought him all the way back from New Zealand for the play-off final.
