A morning at Roots Hall
Meet the Shrimpers Day takes place at Roots Hall on Monday 27 July. Gates open at 10am and the open training session for the first team starts at 10:30am, giving families time to arrive before the players begin work on the pitch.
The club had originally planned a larger event in a local park. Its announcement says the required park licence “was not received in sufficient time” to organise that version safely. Moving the day to Roots Hall keeps the open session and player access in one familiar venue.
Under-16s must attend with a responsible adult. That is worth building into the plan before a young supporter travels with friends.
The 1pm meet-and-greet
After training, the signing and meet-and-greet begins at 1pm in the Shrimpers Bar. The gap between the session on the pitch and the player event makes a straightforward itinerary: arrive for the 10am opening, watch training from 10:30am, then move to the bar for 1pm.
The club’s announcement also lists the FA Trophy in the Far Post Bar, the club shop, and food and drink to buy. Families can decide how much of the day to use without having to guess when the two main activities begin.
Autographs and photos are likely to be the highlight for younger fans, but a little preparation helps. Bring only the items you reasonably want signed, allow other supporters their turn and expect queues around the 1pm start.
Book before setting out
Tickets were available when checked on 22 July 2026, and admission was free. Supporters still need to book through the direct event product; free does not mean entry without a ticket.
Availability and operating details can change after a dated check. Reopen the product and club announcement before travelling, especially if the weather or family plans make a late decision likely.
